There are other programs at the club offered by instructors who are independent of Solarte BJJ. Thus, payment for these programs is NOT through Solarte. The only exception: if you have a Solarte Adult Unlimited Membership subscription (set up via the online form only), then Krav Maga is included.
Kinstretch
Every Saturday 9:30–10:30am
This is no ordinary stretching class! Movement expert Ozi Flores guides you through exercises that increase your range of motion, decrease discomfort in problem areas and builds flexibility with strength. There’s nothing quite like it. If you’ve tried yoga or physical therapy and still didn’t see the results you wanted, give Kinstretch a try!
Krav Maga
Wednesdays 6–7pm and Fridays at 4–5pm
Krav Maga is a combatives system developed in Czechoslovakia in the 1930s for the Israeli military. In the 1980s, it was adopted by the military and many law enforcement agencies in the U.S. The primary goal in Krav Maga is to keep you and those you care about safe. The instruction includes developing situational awareness, de-escalation skills and other ways to avoid violence. Our kicking and punching uses no gloves and no handwraps. Krav Maga training can be intense—both physically and mentally. The physical nature of the training improves endurance and strength. It’s a GREAT WORKOUT and the mental aspects will help you make hard decisions in stressful situations. Taught by Jeremy Jacobs. Jeremy has been training Krav Maga for over 10 years. He’s a retired firefighter from Las Vegas with 30+ years of street experience. He works with students from a variety of backgrounds—youth, teens, men and women—helping them build strength, resilience and confidence.
Karate
Mondays 5–6:30pm and Fridays 11:30am–1pm
Longtime instructor Bob Stacey teaches traditional Karate with an eye for helping students develop great confidence and coordination. Bob is a patient teacher who works well with a range of students—from the very shy to confident athletes. Lessons combine traditional forms (“kata”) as well as nontraditional dexterity development exercises, self-defense discussions and light sparring.
