Solarte’s BJJ Competition Team has had a busy last few weeks. On March 21st, Coach Alex had a good run at the CS/R Invitational in Portland. He finished with some of the gnarliest submissions of the night—a lot of fun to watch! The following weekend, Kyle and Ben competed at NAGA. Ben did well in his intermediate no gi matches with some good passing and a solid sub attempt. Kyle had a triumphant return to competition after SEVERAL years off, with bronze in his expert no gi division and gold at purple belt!!! Most recently, at last Saturday’s Revolution, Dylan jumped into his first-ever jiu jitsu comp. He had a fun time and learned a ton in just a few weeks of training. Kyle killed it in his purple belt division again with another gold!!!!🥇
We’re proud of all of our competitors for showing up, doing the hard work and persevering through all the feelings and adrenaline dumps. Congratulations, guys, and BIG THANKS to everyone on the team who’s been helping them prepare. Extra shout out to Coach Chip for supporting the competitors at both NAGA and The Rev. With every competition, the whole team gets better—it’s a beautiful thing to see.❤️
