More Class Times for Adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu

Solarte BJJ now offers more class times for adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu students. If you’re completely new to the sport, don’t worry. All lessons welcome beginners since we tailor the instruction to suit students of all levels. You can choose among four morning classes and five evening classes to suit your schedule:

Morning Adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Classes

MON 9:00–10:00am
WED/FRI 5:00–6:00am
SAT 10:30–11:30am
I know…that 5am class seems crazy early. But everyone who goes to that session is amazed by how they feel afterwards. It’s a really great way to start your day. You feel like you earned that morning cup of coffee. If you’re not an early bird, try a Monday 9am class and a Saturday 10:30am. You can still get that “started the day right” feeling.

Evening Adult Brazilian Jiu-jitsu Classes

MON 6:30–7:30pm
TUE/WED/THUR 5:30–6:30pm
FRI 6:00–7:00pm
Most of our evening classes are early enough that you can still get in your family time and take care of before-bed chores.

Why Train Brazilian Jiu-jitsu at Solarte?

Because it’s really fun.

Because it challenges you to work on something that isn’t easy, but rewards you with next-level confidence.

You play the whole time and suddenly find that you’ve lost 20 pounds and gained muscle, mobility and new friends.

Even when the weather’s gloomy and rainy, you can enjoy BJJ and continue to reap the benefits.

BJJ is adaptive and can be practiced by people who are older, younger, fit, not fit, tall, short…especially because Solarte has a supportive training environment.

It’s the perfect challenge for someone who wants to change their life with something extraordinary.

Competition Team Training

Since we also have students preparing for a tournament, you’ll see the Competition Team training during the same class times. However, their lessons on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings + Saturday morning add on an extra half hour. We welcome everyone to join the Comp Team training. Do not be intimidated. It’s a lot of fun and much of their training is geared toward beginner fundamentals.

Frequently-Asked Questions

Do I need to buy a uniform or any equipment?
Regular workout clothes are fine for most classes. We do have Solarte rash guards and a Solarte patch for gis, but they are not required. We do recommend that you buy a mouth guard and a good quality BJJ gi (NOT a Karate or Tae Kwon Do gi—those are too light and will tear.) Currently, our only gi training days are on Wed morning and Thursday evening. If you don’t have a gi, don’t worry—we have gis to borrow.

What if I arrive late or need to leave early?
We realize that you’re adults with busy lives. It’s totally fine to arrive late or leave early as needed.

How much are classes? How do I pay?
Per class pricing is $5–$20 per class, self-determined sliding scale. Find us on Venmo (@solartebjj / 360-808-3197) or PayPal (jenn@solartebjj.com or solartebjj@gmail.com). We also have monthly memberships!

Do I need to get in shape before starting BJJ?
Nope! BJJ is a great way to get in shape. Our students lose weight and attain new levels of fitness through their BJJ training.

Do you have Beginner Classes?
No. Instead, all classes are Mixed Levels which means anyone of any level experience can train at any class. Our method of instruction scales the lessons depending on each individual’s level.
